    We all talk.....

about our biggest scores in the mego world, but what was your biggest mistake in buying megos?

Mine was recently, thought I could trust a seller on craigslist in NY and I got robbed basically. A very painful mistake that won't happen again.

I was thinking the same thing D. Is there someone we need to be on the lookout for? We have lots of members and we don't need anyone else getting the shaft.

I recently tried purchasing some Megos from a guy who claims his name is Peter Salamone.

            email: [email protected]

He even had other stuff like this in his ad:

ELVIS PRESLEY Vintage Autographed Record LP w/ Letter of Authenticity

I sent him the money and I have never received my items. I emailed him a few times and he responded, but never anything in the mail.

In his craigslist ads he says to email, call, or text at 518-879-3538. He even goes by Pete on his voicemail.

I've never had a problem with anything like this ever, but unfortunately this is the first time. I thought it was legit

Just wanted to give anyone else heads up, just in case they live out near this area or they look on Craigslist like I do.

It is unfortunate, but it happened.

Don't think I'll ever see that money again.

it happened to me on the old levy list. sent money for some megos and never got them. just a bunch of promises. even called the cops in their area who went over to visit the person and then the person promises to send me the stuff and basically disappears.

I saw that on the local news a while back. What a shame! People are literally dying looking for work these days.

Yeah, That totally sucks! I would only deal local and CASH only. No checks, money orders or excuses period. Even though some deals can be tempting it is best to play it safe and stick to your guns.

But you know, we all can be victims at one time or another. I'm ok with the fact that if my mistake can help others avoid this kind of crap then so be it!

That's rule number one on Craigslist...NEVER EVER do that...you have ZERO guarantee and ZERO protection...ZERO.

Other than that...you will have mostly smooth transactions on Craigslist...I have bought and sold tons of stuff without a hitch.

I paid like 78 Bucks or something for a 8inch Nek'ed Batman , when I 1st re-discovered them on Ebay ... got in a Stupid bidding war with someone, had no Idea what I was doing.

I had bought other stuff off craigslist before, thats why I trusted this one, but never again. But like I said before, this is why I posted it on here so I can protect others and let anyone else know who is on here from NY. My mistake can be someone elses saving grace! Don't want other fellow mego fans to fall like I did.
