You wouldn't believe how many times my bike has been stolen. They cut the chain and steal it while you're in a shop for just a few minutes...

The newest kind of theft is Jack Russells. They walk into your yard, grab them and sell them...
You guys should start getting pitbulls instead of Jack Russells...

Sorry to hear about the package. Whoever stole it needs a beatdown. That only happened once to us and it was these punk kids up the street-age 10 & 12. We did get the box back, my 9 yr old son gave them a harsh warning- its funny because the 12 yr old is scared of my son.

I am very sorry about your situation. I don't like items sitting at my house when I'm not around so acquired a credit card with my business address. Paypal recognizes it as confirmed and nobody at my workplace cares if I have personal items delivered where I work. I live in a small town where families still leave doors unlocked without thinking about it. Unfortunately, we have had robberies over the years (usually teenagers) and I now routinely check all doors, turn on porch lights, etc. Fortunately, we have never been robbed but quite a few neighbors have (some just a couple houses away) which is too close for comfort to me.

Hey HardyGirl, I just wanted to stop by and see how your holiday went? I hope you were able to spend it with friends, family or with whomever and however you wanted, so that you could have a great day!

            All the best!

Thanks Chris. It's nice of you to think about me. Actually I spent the majority of the day alone. My niece who is staying w/ me went to spend Christmas Day w/ her gramma. (I got Christmas Eve and Christmas morning). She's sleeping over and will be back tomorrow. Tomorrow night we will have our Christmas dinner. As for today, I've been watching Christmas specials, eating and checking here at MM. And I'm STILL in my Xmas PJs!

                UPS stands for
                U-you
                P-People
                S-Suck
So sorry to hear that Sharry!!! But what Spidey68 says above is absolutely accurate. I do everything I can to always avoid UPS. I would be willing to bet they delivered it to the wrong address. I worked for them part time when I was a kid during Christmas. They were so obsessed with packing as much as they could into each truck, that it was routine to hear items breaking as they were crammed into the loading trailers. I sometimes refuse to bid on orders or even make a purchase if UPS is the only shipping vendor offered. I am that put off by them. Plus their too rotten expensive. I hate to hear about your loss. But if I were in your shoes, I would be looking at UPS as the root cause here. They hide behind the "process" to cover up shoddy service.

I experienced a rookie scam artist two days ago. I was leaving a shopping center and had a female knock on my car window. When I rolled down the window, she told me her car ran out of gas, she wasn't a bum, and could she borrow my cell phone to call for a ride. She was obviously intoxicated by her slurred speech and had a bag under her arm that looked like it came from the local liquor store. She made an incoherent phone call that lasted 10 seconds and then asked me if she could have money for a cab. I knew all of it was nonsense and offered her a ride to a gas station for her supposed car. She declined so I handed her $5 and wished her a Merry Christmas with the full knowledge that she was probably going to bee-line it straight back to the liquor store.

A day of Christmas specials in your pajamas is one heck of a way to spend the later part of your day. Sorry you had to chill alone for a bit today, but it sounds like you had a great start to the holiday weekend and will have a wonderful night tomorrow. Good for you. Enjoy every minute.

If you have never seen the movie The Ref (Dennis Leary & Kevin Spacey), I highly recommend it. It's a phenomenal Christmas comedy!
