Somebody stole my package from UPS!!

I'm sitting here in tears b/c someone stole a doll I ordered! According to UPS tracking, it was left on my porch last night at 5:45 pm. My niece and I were out getting some dinner. We got home a little after 6, which means someone must have been watching my house and stole the package! I get packages sent to my house all the time, and it really bugs me to think someone is stealing my mail. Merry Christmas creep whoever you are!

I seen on the news a week or so ago that there is a lot of this going on these days and times. Especially now that the holidays are upon us. It sucks that UPS just leaves the packages some where unattended. There has to be a better way than just dropping the packages off and leaving.

In order to combat this the news suggested that people get a po box or go to a USPS store (if there is one in your area) The UPS store will receive your packages and safely hold them for you for a nominal fee. Just an idea.

I have a box at the UPS Store and it's something like $42 for every three months. I started off with it because I was having trouble getting my bills delivered to me properly--they kept getting sent to a cousin's house on the other side of town, despite having my name and address on them--and just kept it over the years. It's nice to have and worth looking into.

This indeed is true, but no one said one has to stick with UPS to have an item delivered. You can go the US mail route if you decided to go with a p.o box. Just a thought. Better than getting your packages stolen.

They do if it's in one of their stores, because it's considered a regular address, plus it's the same company. Look into it--it might cure some headaches for you!

I don't have any UPS stores near me and I don't have a car. I just re-ordered my doll. I'll keep a closer watch on the tracking this time. I hope whoever stole her will give it to a kid who needed a doll this Christmas.

Well, I'm still sorry it happened to you, HardyGirl. I think it's cool you're trying to be philosophical about it, though. Still, it sucks and it's too bad someone would do something crummy like that.

Sorry to hear that. I do think that UPS has insurance built into their fee up to a certain point. Might be worth talking to them, explaining the situation, and asking that they cover it.

It's illegal to leave packages at your door here in Belgium. They have to offer it again at a later date, or let you pick it up at the depot.
People steal everything here (flower pots, ornaments, even dogs in the yard), so no package would be safe here!
