Ouch! Best Buy cancels some online holiday purchases!

Talk about eliminating consumer confidence. You cancel customer orders made in November? REALLY? And your just getting around to telling people that with just days before Christmas?!! Wow...They were already in decline. This could be the death knell for them.

Even before this latest fiasco, they have been picked as one of about 10 "Big Company" stocks to stay away from. Amazon and Wal-Mart are eating them alive already. No big surprise that Netflix was also on the list of stocks to avoid.

I was told by one of their "team members" they are gradually phasing out CD's and DVD's to focus on selling computers.

HUGE mistake. I've spent thousands there...probably tens of thousands over the last fifteen years, and ALL of it on movies and TV shows. Never bought a single computer from them though.

I'm sure CD sales and DVD sales are at an all time low. I have probably bought 5 CDs since 2006. Downloading is much easier.

They cancelled two Blu Ray orders I had. They were for me and not gifts so not a real big deal.

What a joke of a company and a lousy thing to do at the holidays. I haven't bought anything there for almost a year now and I don't plan on it.

I find it funny that they want to focus on computers. I bought one there in 2007 and it was a piece of junk for the money. Not only did it have parts that were already outdated, there are a bunch of spam programs they load on, then offer to remove for some outrageous "setup" fee.

Another company that ran themselves to the ground.

I've never bought anything from them.

I walked into one of their stores a few years ago looking at their TV show DVD's ... Because they were all overpriced I went to Walmart instead.

I still remember Best Buy had Facts of Life season-1 for like $35.00 ... That's nuts

Wally World. (That's Walmart for those of you who have not been assimilated) Those are the only two words you need to know if you're going to enter a store to buy anything. The "Walmartians" alone, are worth the trip every single time.

I actually just purchased a Samsung LED Smart TV recently. The price was good and they offered 3 years of free financing.

The big turnoff for me was a push to purchase some type of Best Buy calibration for $200or $300. They gave me the whole sales pitch about the factory settings not being correct...yada, yada. I told them I'll just take it as is and if I don't like the factory settings; I will manually change them to my liking.

It felt like buying a brand new car and the salesman trying to sell you a tune-up on it before you roll out of the lot....sheesh.

Walmart and Amazon are eating everyone's lunch. Walmart did it to TRU a few years back by undercutting TRU's prices. I have noticed they are now going after Best Buy on the electronics front. They might not have the biggest selection but they do seem to carry all of the best selling brands and typically at a price lower than Best Buy.
