    Kindle fire any good?

Does anyone here have the Kindle Fire? If so what do you think, is it worth it? Good the bad? Both my wife and my son's girlfriend want it. I have read mixed reviews.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Pay the extra bucks and get the iPad. SOOOO much more functionality. The 7 inch screens get tiring after a while, especially if you do a lot of reading on them. I say this from experience. I have owned an iPad since day one, but I did have a 7 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab for about a year. iPad with the Kindle app is the way to go with ebooks.

I don't have one but my wife is wanting one for Christmas. From what I have read, they are decent for the price they are selling at. Sure, the Ipad is better and you really can't compare them. If the Ipad was selling for $199.00 then that's great, but it's not. An Ipad is going to cost in the neighborhood of $300 more than the Kindle and many people don't have that much extra to spend.

My brother has the Kindle and said he likes it but also in the same breath stated he would also dish out the extra money for an iPad if he did it over again.

I got one for Thanksgiving. It is fine for my needs. Occasional book to read while traveling. WiFi internet access for email, facebook and misc research. I don't have 3G service for a smartphone so no need for that extra. Don't plan on using it for work. I travel 1 or 2 nights a month and I can keep in touch. My iPod Touch was too small to read on, email or surf.

I have a few game apps but they do not seem as smooth as the iPod.

I would love an iPad just can not pony up the cash. I had $150 Amazon credit so I only had to come up with an extra $50 at this time.

Not a bad little device and I am sure they will issue updates and improvements if it turns out to be good for Amazon. Supposedly they are loosing $50 on each one right now.

I got mine about two weeks back. I really like it. Reads fine, downloaded a few episodes of sparticus, ran great ..no breaks in streaming. Allows 25GB of storage space in "THe Cloud". Still learning my way around it, but enjoyed accessing THe Mego Museum from my car while I was out. No problem accessing ebay, or my e-mail, and following my fantasy football team...untill I got knocked out of the playoffs. Thumbs Up. My daughter on the other hand has asked for the Nook Color. I think Amazon has much more potential for upside. Good luck.

I'm personally way more interested in gaming than apps, movie streaming or web browsing so I'm not in too big hurry to get a tablet. But from what I've seen, it looks to be very nice and reasonably priced. Yes, less features than the Ipad but it is also $300 cheaper than the lowest end Ipad. I actually prefer the smaller size over the Ipad and I think Ipads are way too expensive. If I were ever to get a tablet, I'd get the Kindle Fire. I'd probably wait for the inevitable 2nd gen version though.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
