I didn't think the first one was that bad. There was a feeling when I left the theatre that they could of done the movie a whole lot better but I liked several of the characters. (Scarlet, Hawk, Snake Eyes, Baroness). The new one looks great but are they simply dumping the first movie group entirely?

I don't mind if they dump the first team/cast. In the cartoons, they were always following around different characters/teams. There were a few regulars of course but I liked how they mixed things up from time to time.

I hope they put Shipwreck in this one. He cracks me up.

The first one really suffered from unneccesary studio tampering. I mean Cobra Commander's look has been promoted for 25 years, why ruin recognition factor for the movie?

This on the other hand, looks like they've listened to the criticisms of the first film and are trying to appeal to the 30 somethings who grew up on the cartoon/comic/toyline. That's common sense.

I liked the RAH comic a lot in the 1980s, so it's nice to see it try and go that route. Willis as the original Joe, nice touch.

That's one part that I do like about this film, the brief shot of him looked like he was wearing 64 style fatigues, too.

If it was George Clooney with a beard and scar, I could see it....but a bald, smirking Bruce Willis doesn't resemble him in the slightest.

yeah I know he read the script and ran Im glad rather see him in Dark Knight Rises anyways working with Christopher Nolan again

if the commander is always in his helmet now it is not really that imperative to have the same actor in the role

The failure was picking him as Cobra Commander in the first place , but now I hate when they switch someone out in a sequel
