Way back in the mid 80's the NFL got really popular here in the UK with tv coverage which we had never had before. One of the things the tv picked up on and made a big thing of was the cheerleaders, there were some games where we saw more of them than the actual game ( not that i'm complaining you understand ).
Move forward to present day and we still get to see a game every week but i have noticed that the cheerleaders are now pretty much ignored in the coverage. You can see they are in the stadium but the coverage is very much on the game ( now i'm complaining ).
Has this happened in the US aswell, maybe without you really realising it and is there a reason for it?
