I have an uncle in Europe, who doesn't speak Englsh, but gets a kick out of imitating me and my siblings speaking English with eachother. It sounds like he stuffs a wad of paper towels in his mouth and talks through his nose. It's pretty funny, actually.

Yep, that's how you guys sound to the rest of the world....

I'm pretty good at figuring out accents and different ways of pronouncing English, but sometimes it's hard. Especially Southern accents (US) and Scottish ones (UK).
My wife's good at understanding English, but at times, she has to ask "what the ... did that guy say?"
She likes watching the show American Pickers, and when they're in the South, my wife asks me to "translate"...

Btw, the song in the video is a classic. Always loved it...

I was in a rural part of England years ago and could not for the life of me understand what was being said. It was English but the accent was thick with a lot of local slang that wasn't translating in my brain. I felt stupid admitting to him that I did not understand what he was saying even though we were speaking the same language.

That reminds me of the language spoken in The Sims games.

Lol that's pretty funny,it's weird how we all have different words like regional slang for different things.
