that would be cool, but as a Marlins fan we all know where this is going..one quick run at a WS title and then another sell off

I think Pujols is considerably older than he's listed. A long term deal with a no trade clause is both scary and risky.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

^^^Half joking on that. He looks like he's 40. Just like Greg Odon in the NBA, he looks much older than he really is. He's from the Dominican Republic where age fraud to get players into the states to play baseball is rampant. Just ask Jim Bowden. Plus he does seem to get a lot of nagging injuries anymore. He's listed as 31 years old. I'm guessing, and it's just my opinion, he's closer to 38. Just a hunch.

Some athletes prematurely age and some do not age. Jerry Rice still looks in his twenties.

Don't get me wrong on this. I think Albert may be THE best ball players I've ever personally witnessed. I do feel a little bit bad for the Cardinals fans losing a future legend. The era of free agency allows players to do exactly what he did, so burning jerseys and all that other nonsense is idiotic. It's hard to remain loyal to a player anymore.

the burning of jerseys is moronic

But you also understand that Pujols has to make whatever money he can so he can set up his family. I'm with the players and I firmly believe you squeeze the crap out of ownership for every nickel you can get out of them.

Teams last forever but a players time is limited and he is the product wearing the brand name.

Cardinal fans have no reason to boo him he gave them everything. It is ownership that has to put out to keep him.

Once upon a time teams owned players like they were cattle they were slaves to those teams with no say. those days are over. good players are like hitmen now going to the team that can give him the best deal to do his job.

Small market teams may not be able to compete money wise with big market but that should teach those owners to learn how to market themselves and develop young talent so fans come out to the ball park and have a good time and see quality baseball.

NOT every player wants to come to play in NY,Boston or LA but when cheap owners don't take their money and reinvest it back into their team. the talent eventually will walk, players want to win and make a good living for their families........

I can't begrudge Pujols for taking the HUGE contract. However, that kind of money being offered is just staggering to me. If the biggest difference was 50 million divided over ten years between a team on a spending spree versus the team that drafted/discovered him in the 13th round and helped make him who he is, you have to question his loyalties a little bit.

I dunno, I'm probably way off here. That kind of money is way beyond my comprehension. It's like someone offering a gazillion dollars and someone else offering a gazzilion.1 dollars. I'm still a Pujols fan, though. I hope he does well. The American League better get ready...

When you have that kind of talent you get paid. the greatest Hall Of Famers dreamed of getting this kind of money but were screwed over by greedy owners.

My Dad knew Joe Dimaggio and he asked Joe one time how much would he be worth today and Joe without hesitating told my Dad the Yankees wouldn't be able to afford me.

I know that's crazy money but Pujols IMO is worth every penny......I like him a lot my Fav player in the national league. if he's healthy he's going to be a royal pain in the ***......

It'll be interesting to see him go against AL pitching and see him in AL ballparks. Actually, that'll just be flat-out weird.

My favorite guy might be Fielder. Being one myself, I gotta root for the fat guy.
