Fun Christmas Tree Tradition if you have kids.

I learned this one in Germany as well and I'm sure a lot of you are familar with it but it is hiding a pickle ornament on the tree. I think the traditional custom is to hang it and the first kid who finds it; receives a special treat (candy, etc.).

I have been doing this for a few years now with a twist. I buy each of my kids a treat and just tell them it will be hung at some point before Christmas. Their job is to find it, tell me where it is on the tree and not tell their siblings to claim their reward. We put our tree up over Thanksgiving weekend and will probably hang the ornament in the next couple of days. I never say a word about it. My kids are older now...17, 14, and 11 but they all still enjoy this tradition.

My sister-in-law was describing this to us over Thanksgiving. I'd never heard of it.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

My ex-hubby's family is German and they told me about this.
