i went to go see a movie at 7pm on thursday, right next to best buy and the line went down the block,
i come out at 10 to find that i went down 2 blocks,
i did not read the ad seeing what they had on sale but i went anyway the next day, whatever they had on sale was only about 5 dollars off on 5-6 items, and i bought nothing,
so what the hell were they waiting to buy?Comment

I blame the stores for all of it. Doorbusters are one of the worst parts of the holiday. I hate the people that do it. My wife works with one of these types. All work day Tuesday she was talking about how she loved it and has and will throw some elbows. She is a tiny little thing, maybe 5"1 and 90 lbs wet.Comment

So much negativity. I tend to look on the brightside of things. I also seem to remember people complaining about our generation being lazy, video game addicts too. So I don't get too stressed out about it. But if you really want to be a downer, another way to look at it is, if kids today are so bad it's only because our generation made terrible parents and role models. So, if anyone is to blame it's us.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Pretty much.
This compulsion people in this country seem to have with buying things is truly staggering. I'm sure this type of behavior has gone on for quite some time, I've just never been to a Black Friday sale to see it first hand. To a large degree, I think the United States is quickly becoming a nation of insular, unhealthy, self indulgent, technology mongers, with no REAL idea of the trouble this country truly is in as a result of this behavior. The younger generation is the worst; The 13-19 year olds with the ipods, iphones, headphones, video games, etc, who as long as their phone works and they can text with their friends 24 hours a day from their car, school, taco bell and the mall, life is good. These kids are so content being mediocre and getting by with the least amount of "work" they need to do to become a decent, upstanding member of society, I seriously-- SERIOUSLY, fear our future as a nation. It's not only the kids either-- What about all their parents who had NO business whatsoever buying a 350k house when they make 40 grand a year??? Why are you getting foreclosed on? Why is the housing market so bad? The economy in general? Hmmmmnnn??? Bueller, Bueller... Anyone? That video is merely a precursor to the mayhem that will ensue when all these idiots are running the place in 30 years.
Here's another example for you-- TRUE story; A buddy of mine owns a car body shop and has for the past 26 years. We went to lunch a few months ago and I asked him how business was. He replied; "Best it's ever been. As long as these kids keep texting while they're driving, I'll be busy..."He said that right around the time texting became popular, his business started increasing. Now, he's 200% of where he was 7 years ago. Bigger shop, more employees, etc...

I remember going to Wally World the first year the Nintendo Wii came out, they were receiving 50 of them and 500 people showed up. Fights were starting to break out and they had to call the police to keep things civil. I vowed that would be the last time I would do anything like that again and have stuck with it. As far as the lady with pepper spray; I'm sure in addition to potential jail time, a civil suit will be filed against her and Wal-Mart. She will probably lose everything financially if she has anything."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

I call it "crack Friday".As that is what most folks seems to be on that tends those so called sales.
I could maybe understand if it was for a Super Collector action figure or something, but a waffle maker? really? Chances are great that the waffle maker will end up at Goodwill before the year is up.

Amen brother. The closest I came to buying anything on BF was online. Circuit City had a killer deal on 50 inch LCD's many years ago. The deal was for a certain price from 5AM-11AM. I got up early and went to the website at 4:45. The TV showed in stock. I waited until 5AM and it showed out of stock. At 11:01 AM it was miraculously back in stock! That was the last I purchased anything from CC and I was very happy went they went bust.Comment

I didn't go, but my daughters did. The only thing I really needed was a printer for my work comp. They were $20.00. I thought....get not a bad deal. Hooked it up yesterday to find that it didn't come with the USB hookup. Spent $15.00 on that today. Gotta love it.....Comment
