I hope the moderators let this thread go for a while.
It's a post to show some of these ONE post newbies why some of us are distrustful of them. It's nothing personal, but you guys have to see why we might question this.
Again, I'm not talking about newbies who been active a bit, like perhaps having 20-30 posts, that's cool, we are getting to know you a bit, we see you active, that's cool.
I'm talking about the sudden increase on these ONE post newbies who out of the blue advertise stuff and expect us to just jump in and blindly buy what they are offering, and most of the time there's not ONE picture, not ONE price tag, and most importantly, not even ONE single greeting.
How do you expect to make sales like that?
It's bad enough to risk sending money to eBay sellers, but at least there we can be protected from fraud, in here, we have to rely on pure trust.
Case in point...
The famous "atronempire" incident.
I'm not sure about his exact name, but it was something similar to that.
The atronempire incident was this ONE post newbie with Megos priced that were just too good to be true. I'm talking something like a mint loose Wonder Girl for about $100 or something like that.
I placed $300 worth of orders...and I was stupid enough to send him money.
Other Museum Member did the same thing.
Well, guess what, it did turn out too good to be true.
Needthless to say, antronempire turned out to be this young spoiled rich kid (through some detective work, members here found out where he lived, it was practically a mansion in a very exclusive neighborhood) who didn't own any Megos and had practically stolen our money.
Appearantly, he had been doing this routine on other toy forums too, not just Megos.
But again, thanks to great savy members, they located the young thief, informed his parents, and by some miracle, we all got our money back from them.
I hope they beat their lad into a bloody pulp (I think he was like 17 years old or something).
Thanks to that experience, I don't ever deal with ONE post newbies in the Marketplace forum until I see them very active on the other forums and establish themselves that way. That's why I get very distrustful with these ONE post newbies suddenly popping in all the time, no introductions, and no pictures of what they are selling (no prices as well).
Anyway guys, I hope you now understand why.
Thanks.
