Seriously though, I'll be glad when this whole thing is over. No offense to anyone here who likes it. I used to work in a bookstore and after being asked "Vampires or werewolves?" & "Edward or Jacob?" so often, I had to finally take a stand and stand up for the "Van Helsing" camp. Not the Hugh Jackman film, but the "anti-monster" camp. "Monsters are to be destroyed, not made love to" I'd tell them, and they'd drop the subject pretty quickly. It was bad enough that ALL of my co-workers were drawn into the whole thing and took sides, mostly Edward's. Even my wife was pulled into the horror that is The Twilight Saga, and was pro-Edward.

In a strange twist, my second born son is named Edward. But I made it clear that he was named after my great-grandfather and NOT a 'sparkly' vampire.

I know it's just make-believe, but the aspect of someone going to high school for 100s of years just because they look young is completely repugnant to me. Both morally and intellectually.

My daughter is a big "Twilight" fan and wanted to read the books a few years ago (before any of the movies were released). I pre-read each one before allowing her giving her the ok to read (she was only 10 or 11 at the time). I wouldn't let her read "Breaking Dawn" (just thought inappropriate for a 12/13 year old to be reading a book with a lot of sensual scenes. Now she is 14 and asking me to take her to see the movie. I told her I would think about it. Out of all of the books; I really hated this one the most and I'm sure the movie is going to cause my gag reflex to go off. If anyone sees it; let me know if this would be considered appropriate for a 14 year old. I don't like her being exposed to graphic sex scenes that just touch the border of PG-13.

What?! You don't think a 16 year-old falling in love with an adult in a kids body is appropriate for kids? (Where is that sarcasm emoticon anyway?)
