Here Come the Mummies

This is such a departure from my normal progresssive rock and metal, but it's so freakin good. This is THE ultimate funk band. I've picked three or four of their CD's recently and am seriously impressed. When you get past all of the lyrical innuendo and comedy, these are some badass musicians. Just try not to bop your head or tap your feet during the Wiener Man song. Fun stuff. Highly recommended.

So that is what happened to Bootsy Collins! It really does have a fun, funky sound to it.

Bootsy Collins lives five miles from me. I see him all the time driving his Ford Expedition. He still wears the funky shades, top hat and his trailer hitch is a chrome skull with flashing red eyes. Of course his plate says Bootsy. He's still considered a celebrity around Cincinnati, but I just don't see his relevancy. I've still never seen what he looks like as he never removes the shades. Strange dude.
