they all went out of business around here years and years ago....probably was the late 70's or early eighties....think it had something to do with horse meat in those tasty burgers you mention Hec....beware what you eat..no joke

Horse meat is excellent...a lot leaner than cattle beef.

Many continents throughout the world, including Latin America and Europe...consume horse meat...although a little tougher in texture...it is pretty good.

According to their site JITB are only located in IL, TN, SC and NC out east. Everything else is west and mid-west. And we get JITB commercials all the time.

They had one in Maryland on the Eastern shore a few years ago...must have shut down.

I think there was an issue with salmonella poisoning or something along those lines across many of the chains years ago that caused some major problems with the company.

One of the first things East Coaster discover when they move out West is that the panic of not having Hellman's is quickly relieved when you realize that Best Food's (which is on the Hellman's label if you look) is the same exact thing.
