21 Jump Street, yet another older show which was originally played straight gets remade as a comedy. This time a slacker/stoner comedy

I'm pretty sure it played in rerun. You can watch it online too.

            21 Jump Street - TV.com

What I don't understand (after viewing the trailer) is why they felt they had to attach the 21 Jump Street title to this movie. Looks like it would have been able to stand on it's own and really has nothing to do with the TV show from what I can tell.

I was never much a fan of the show, it's just that it sucks that all Hollywood seems to be doing lately is not only remakes, but remakes that make a mockery of what they are remaking.

At least plans for the proposed Six Million Dollar Man Jim Carey comedy were cancelled after fans of the original raised a snit online a few years back.

I liked the show a lot back in its original run.. Mod Squad for my generation if you will (until Richard Greiko of course). I saw the trailer yesterday but had the sound down and realized quickly that this 'remake' is going to be a stinker.

Flashback moment... Loved the episode when Johnny Depp's character got all neurotic after Holly Robinson's character got shot... watching the surveillance tapes over and over he went through the motions of what all he could accomplish in the span of the three seconds he paused before she was shot...was very cool to me then the way they put that together with the final test of course being him pulling and firing his gun.

I actually bought the first season last year at Wal Mart for $5

I think the failed remake Bionic Woman TV series sealed the deal SMDM will never get remade.

The new Bionic Woman was embarrassingly lousy
