anybody like to collect vintage computer items?

Being the type of person who finds it hard to toss anything, I have a small museum of my Macintosh upgrade path.

Does anybody else hold onto old systems and platforms and fire them up every once in a while for a quick flashback?

Nah, but sometimes I wish I had my old TRS-80 Coco again just to play with it

Far too frustrating to me. A couple of years ago there was an old laptop loaded with Windows 98. I fired it up and quickly lost my mind as everything responded so slow. No looking back here.

          I dunno

It just makes me very happy when I crank up my SE/30 and hammer on the machine gun for a bit.

My Father-in-law still has 2 Tandy computers from around 1981.

They look like over sized word processors.

I still have my old Apple LC III, (the pizza box). I have been meaning to take it out and play with it. Occasionally I like to surf eBay for old programs I couldn't afford back then. I'm still hoping to find a copy of Canvas 3.0. It is a much beloved drawing program that after that version they seemed to give up on making good versions for Apple. I still have old sound effects and screen saver programs like Star Trek Audio and 2001 Audio for the LCIII.

If i had the room I would. I really like old programs and games. The computer i still want after all these years is the Amiga. I would probably buy games for it to, its a alsome computer. I still like to collect Dos games to. Nice art work on many of them.

                  List:

                  Macintosh SE
                  Macintosh Color Classic
                  Powerbook 145B
                  iMac Bondi Rev. B
                  15" PowerBook G4
                  13" PowerBook G4

All of them still work except the SE.

I have my Apple ][ c, Apple Imagewriter colour printer and all the boxes and software and stuff. I love it.

I just got rid of a bunch of worthless 90s stuff, like accessories I was hanging on to for no reason, like a dial-up modem and a couple of old old video cards.

I still have a working Mac 512K in the basement somewhere, along with a 575 (I think) all-in-one with a color monitor. I'd like to track down a cheap strawberry iMac and/or a color classic and run flying toasters on it.

I wish I woulda held onto some of my old stuff from when I worked in the gaming industry. I sold off three sets of the GameBoy 3rd party games that were put out in the late 90's for a ton of cash last year, but I never worked on that project so it was easy to let them go.
There was a recent article in an Archeology magazine about early chip designs, and the fact that no one really held on to the original information.

I'm fascinated by vintage tech and love classic game consoles but I have yet to pick up any early computers. One of these days I'm going to have to get an Atari 800.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
