    Julian Lennon is back!!!

Julian Lennon, the brilliant musician son of former Beatle John Lennon, is back after almost a decade of doing personal things and avoiding the music industry but now he's come to terms with his musical talents and wrote a brilliant new album called "Everything Changes".

Julian Lennon is in the age bracket now that when his father (John Lennon) was in when he was murdered. Listening to his new material makes me think would this be where John's sound would be now?

No, Julian's mother is not Yoko Ono. There are still some goofbag people out there that actually say that still. (idiots!) His mother is Cynthia Powell from John's first marriage. Julian is famous for the song by the Beatles called "Hey Jude" where Paul had wrote for him after Cynthia and John's breakup.

Recently after receiving more royalties from John Lennon's estate. Julian spent a great deal of money buying back some of the things of his fathers from his childhood. He believed they belonged with him and his family.

His new video is amazing and I advise you pick up the whole album. I did and I have been playing it from front to back.
    Here's the new video.

Surely Julian Lennon can only be Julian Lennon. I'm sure he would want that. He may have his fathers influence and vocal inclinations but he will never be his father.

It's not that he has no talent. Vocally, he is a mess. Sounds like he's singing through his nose.

That was pretty good. I've always felt for Julian... looking and sounding like one of the most influential musicians in the history of the planet has probably been a really big bear to wrestle with. His talent and style is his own but the ghosts of John will always be echoing and the parental references will always come before the discussion of his own work.

            That's gotta suck.

I could care less who his mother is...that doesn't make an iota of difference to me...just whether I like him or not...and while not really a big fan of his...he is talented.

Unfortunately the CD isn't available yet here in the States. His record company is doing the same thing they did when Photograph Smile came out...2 or 3 months after it was released in the UK and the rest of the world it was released here in the States. Now word yet on a US release. From all the reviews I've heard it is a very mellow record. Doesn't seem to be any upbeat songs on the CD. I haven't heard it yet because I really don't feel like spending $20 or more for a UK import.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                  The beauty that surrounds them
                  Isn't it a pity".

                  - "Isn't It A Pity"

I did not even know he had a new album coming out. Photograph smile was a good album and AI play it now and then.

I actually think Julian is almost 50 so he is older than his father was when he died.

I have owned all of his albums at one time or another, the only one I never liked was Mr. Jordan, which I think was his 3rd

That explains why our Exclusive Company had to order mine and I'm stuck with a Torrent copy until mine gets here.

I got to see him on his first nation-wide "Valotte" tour ('84..?). He did SUCH a high-octane, exciting stage presentation.. Best was finishing 'Too Late for Goodbyes', then launching straight in to his Dad's 'It Won't Be Long'.. THAT was fantastic. He was very charming, articulate, just great fun to watch.

On the flip-side, when I was serving in Germany in '90, I passed by him doing a smaller outdoors gig on a Saturday afternoon.. He didn't seem quite as strong of a performer anymore, probably just doing gigs for the cash at that point.
                          Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

I saw him at the Beacon Theater in NYC back in 88. Great show. Sean came on stage and they sang Stand By Me together.
