    2004 Dodge Durango?

This weekend I had the misfortune of both of my cars dying. My son drove my car to Walmart and it died my wife then went to where he broke down and her car died. Both cars are officially dead, one needs new motor the other needs new transmission.

Now to the reason behind this post, we are now looking for 2 replacement vehicles. We found a 2004 Durango with a 5.7 hemi, 62,000 miles on it. Has anyone here owned one or know anyone that has? ANyinfo would be helpful. I am checking the standard websites Edmunds and and such. But I thought I would try to get some thoughts from my Mego family.

    Thanks!

I know very little about cars, but I do know you need to stay the hell away from WalMart! That's seriously strange, like the Bermuda Triangle. I feel for you, dude.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Hey the Durango is not bad will give you more then 13 miles to the gallon city wise and more on highway. I used that when I go to the WrestleMania events and run like a champ. Its decent space all around smooth ride. It has been good for me just depends on how you treat it.

Don't do it. We had a 2004 Durango and it was a frigging MONEY PIT! I put close to $1000 in it every year at inspection time. I wouldn't touch one if it was given to me.

All we buy are Dodge Grand Caravan Sport models with the 3.3L engine. We love them. One has 240,000 miles and the baby just turned 118,000. Besides using them for normal transportation we also use them to haul motorcycles (my other passion/collection) and have had nothing but great luck with them. I also only run Mobile 1 in all my engines including my lawnmowers.

A good friend of mine is a mechanic at a local Dodge dealer and he says the Durango's are frequent visitors to the garage. I owned several Dodge RAM trucks and had no problems with them, but I would stay away from the Durango's, especially the 2004 models. That was the first year they redesigned them and apparently the worst year for reliability.

Check your Dip Sticks for Oil and Trani Fluid , and make sure there's no leaks under the car while shopping.

The Hemi is a great motor and for it's size gets good gas mileage. The Duragno is a Dakota turned in to an suv.
