True or not, your reply was completely off-topic.

The guy is posting about collecting toys for charity. He's not a "toy blogger" who gets "FREE toys"; he's a guy who has bought them himself over the years and no longer wants them. He's not posting about how to decorate a monster-themed restaurant or if a monster-themed restaurant would be interested in them... he's asking if poor and underprivileged children would want them.

Your attitude makes you come off badly here. You could very easily have said something like "If you don't think kids would want them, I would love to have them for my restaurant, because buying them down here is very expensive. I'll pay shipping." Then no one would be complaining at all.

I don't know if it's a language barrier issue or if someone hacked your account and is messing with us, but your posts here and in Sandy's Halloween contest thread where you complain that you didn't win a contest you didn't even enter are just really bizarre.

when in dollar stores i will sometimes watch the way kids act in toy aisles. i think younger kids wont care at all. it will brighten their day. good idea, imo.

Thats just great I do the same thing giving toys away. I have all kinds of odds and ends but really it being out dated doesn't mean a thing, its really the thought that counts. It could be a boring toy to us but to the kids it's "Priceless"!

Less fortunate kids would be happy with anything.

I don't think most kids would care if the figure was from Congo --- They'll pretend it's from whatever they want - like we used to

I think that donating those is a wonderful idea! And I agree with everyone that a child will just be happy to get a toy.

Maggy is a social worker (even though she lost her job earlier this year) and has worked with foster kids for years now. I had a ton of newer Hotwheels (still new in the package just older issued cars) that I really didn't need so she would always carry some in our minivan to hand out to the kids. She had similar items for the girls (Beanie Babies, stuffed animals, etc) and she said the looks on their faces were priceless. We also used to keep Happy Meal toys in the sealed packs for the same thing. None of these items were expensive (usually $1.50 or less) but those kids didn't care. And THAT is the whole point. Making a less fortunate child happy if only for a brief period.

I applaud everyone here that gives to Toys for Tots!!! You are all rock stars in my eyes!!!

This year I've volunteered to be an Elf for the toy drive at work, which we do for the benefit of the local Children's Services agency. I'll get a list of coworkers who promise to donate toys, and then I'll get to act like a collection agent until they follow through. Looking forward to it.

Also, one of the wife's play groups has adopted a family through the Salvation Army. Small family - a 3 year old boy in the custody of his great grandparents. I'm letting the wife worry about the adults, but when I saw that the boy wanted GI Joe & wrestling figures, I jumped all over it. What a cool little boy!

I have a new in the box wrestling ring (elimination chamber?) that I snagged for my kids a while ago, but they're not into wrestling. I'm also going to give him a 12" retro GI Joe or two. Oh yeah, rockin' the Kung F u grip!

If he was a Mexican...and English was his second language...I'd give him a pass.

But the dude is an American from Atlanta...

No excuse...by him totally ignoring the intention of this thread...and continue narcissistically yapping about some irrelevant Halloween-themed restaurant that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Toys for Tots...reflects mightily what kinda person he is...damn the poor needy kids...he demands us to ravish him with gifts left and right...damn the children.

Do you actually read and understand threads?

This thread is about donating toys to needy children...yet you turned it into "yet" another Monster Cafe commercial. Who cares about that...totally irrelevant to this topic.

                    Is English your first language?

Because if it is...or was...you need to take a refresher course in English comprehension.

Wow. A Toys-for-Tots thread goes off the rails at Mego Museum? I never would'a expected it.

I've never would have suspected some grown up person would want to take away toys from poor needy children here either...that just boils my blood to no end.

Hec's argument is invalid because he didn't say your place looks cool? Dude, how full of yourself can one be? Un-friggin-believable.

If those tots don't say those toys look cool or anything of the sort, I'll find those tots, take their toys, and then go ride a llama to Saltillo and hand deliver the toys to the proprietor of the Monster Cafe.

I kindly request that one of you cool or anything of the sort board members help me locate a home and garden store on my route that can supply me with a fresh sack of manure.

In closing, I appreciate your words of truth and validity. Um. Nah. Invalidity. I have seen your place. I noticed that is was cool or anything of the sort, yet I still was prompted to argument.

wow, I looked at his posts and almost every third one mentions his cafe. I gooogled it an could only find the Universal theme park restaurant of the same name.

As for the toys, give them all to the drive.
