for me its key lime. not to much of a fan of cheese cake.
pecan pie though.....i can make a meal out of that!

Cheesecake and pecan pie are tied for my favorite dessert. Which one I order any given day depends on my mood. When Nate and I went to DragonCon in Atlanta, we got a really nice dinner, with pecan pie for dessert. It was warm, and drizzled with caramel...

I've never tasted cheesecake made with Ricotta, so I can't opine on it.

I have had New York style cheesecake, in many different varieties, and I honestly don't have a favorite.

I just don't like them when they are room temperature and mushy.

I like them better when they are refrigerated or frozen.

In my local Barnes and Noble, they have this variety made with a chocolate graham cracker crust, strawberry swirls throughout, white chocolate curls on top and a smidgeon of whipped cream.

Delicious!

I actually like Ricotta cheese cake better

I'm not sure I've had it made with ricotta. How does that change the taste/texture? I make a pretty good one with cream cheese, but have been wanting to experiment now that I've mastered the basic recipe.

You can tell it's made from ricotta if it's not crazy sweet and the consistency is almost cakie.
Almost a consistency like mashed pototoes

9 times out of ten normal diner cheesecakes are the ricotta kind.

Wow, this is very hard, many have btter KLP yet the cheese can never go wrong, but I'm going for key lime pie

I'll go for cheesecake, but here's a thought. A few years ago I made a cheesecake for a dessert contest. I wanted to dress it up, so I made some glaze/syrup to drizzle on it. I boiled down some apple cider until it was the consistency of maple syrup. No reason you couldn't do that with sweetened lime juice. Just need to figure out the proportions so it's not overwhelming.
