The email scams just keep getting more creative

Just received one saying I had received a ticket from the one of those speed cameras in New York even though I haven't been to New York in years.

There was a zipped attachment and normally I would just delete but just out of curiousity wanted to see if there was a phonied up ticket or something and since my computer is well protected....I unzipped the file and saw a file with an .exe extension on it. Quickly blew that into the ether.

I got one last week where the scammer wants you to join their lawsuit in suing another scammer.

My standard response to spam of any kind.

I got some for odd ones with awful grammar and weird symbols like %$~?^ right in the middle of words, they want me to get i pads for free, but i have to give my SSN and Credit card #

The first rule of thumb is to absolutely IGNORE anything you get through the internet...no matter how official it seems...you do that...and you'll be fine.

^Yeah that's what the one I got was trying to do. They claim they're with the UN bringing a lawsuit against these other scammers.
