    Halloween cancelled by snow

Trick or treat night was cancelled here in Central Pa. due to 3-5" of snow currently falling. Postponed until Monday night.
Watching all the trees & shrubs in my yard slowly snap under the weight of the wet snow & praying they avoid the roof. Yeesh!
Turning to rain off & on, but it's freezing out and I'm hoping it doesn't turn to ice tonight.

The flattened remains of my wife's butterfly bushes, still with flowers on them:

Yeah, I was supposed to go to a Halloween party about 40 minutes away. We had already decided not to drive, then other people started backing out, and then the party was cancelled. I was really looking forward to going out in costume:(
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

    Check out my customs!

Maggy said that the East coast was going to get nailed with snow. Her folks live near Wilkes-Barre and I think she said they are supposed to get a foot or more which is not uncommon for them.

Here Trick-or-treating is always done on the 31st no matter what day it falls on. We just went last night and picked up a couple bags of candy for it. Now that Brad Jr. is almost 16 he stays home and hands out the candy. It does sadden me a bit since I used to take him and his friends out every year and will cherish those memories for the rest of my life.

Perfect time to go Trick-Or-Treating as Santa Claus. That would be weird but fun.

Crazy to see snow at this time of year, isn't Halloween Monday anyway?

Yikes! Those early freak snow storms are brutal, especially when the trees still have leaves on them, the wet snow is just too much weight. We had one in the middle of October about 5 years ago and tons of trees (and power lines) went down. Stay safe!

We always go out trick or treating on the 31st too, no matter what day it is. Guess every region has different customs on this.

Yeah, the snow really sucked around here. My son got stranded at a friends house in the mountains. I tried to get there to pick him up in my Hummer but ended up sliding sideways down the mountain on one road and almost lost control on another road which ended up being closed due to a nasty accident. Had to give up and leave him there for the night. Any more of this and I am moving!

Every town around here has different trick or treat nights. Ours was tonight, I think the school district wanted it that way to avoid kids being up late wired on candy on a school night.
Snow turned to all rain about 7 o clock, washing it off the tree branches, so it's kinda over for now. This afternoon I was out knocking snow off of the limbs I could reach easily and heard this enourmous CRACK! and a big branch fell in the back yard. No damage done thank goodness.

All slush this morning. Mother Nature just needed to screw with my Saturday plans!

After having missing several scheduled events to bad weather I'd finally had enough yesterday. So I went to Langhorne PA as scheduled for for a Trish Stratus (former WWE Diva) signing. The drive wasn't fun but the irony is we got hit much worse in NJ while I was gone. Managed to get home before it got dark at least.
