Favorite thing to do at Walt Disney World?

So I'm headed there this Saturday for a much needed 10 day vacation. This will actually be our 4th vacation there in 2 years. And although you can never do all there is to do (even in 10 days), I feel like we've done mostly everything at least once. So I'm looking for suggestions or would just like to hear what you guys/gals like to do while your there.
Interesting thing to note, Halloween is the only day of the year that WDW admits people dressed in costume as they dont want kids getting confused about characters. My wife is going to be Sully (Monsters Inc.) and I'm a funny looking skeleton (my ode to Silly Symphony skeleton dance, I just have to learn all the moves).

I'm not really a Disney fan.

I'd much rather go to Kennedy Space Center

I haven't been in close to 10 years. You've done more there than I have.

Typhoon Lagoon!!!!!!!!! Hands down! I love TL. The wave pool is incredible. My company had a rental house that was about 10 minutes from the Disney gate, so we used to go down every year and get a season pass to the waterparks (TL and Blizzard Beach) for $99 and that's all we did all week was hit those two parks. Then we we hit Downtown Disney Marketplace in the evening and ate at the Rainforest Cafe and strolled the shops. Good times. The house was sold a few years ago so we haven't been there since, but we will get there next year or the following. Have fun!

We did Disney World once. Would like to go back someday but I think my kids would rather go somewhere else now that they are older. Aside from the obvious choices; we really enjoyed hitting the Countries of the World at the back of Epcot in the evening. Everyone else was eating dinner so we meandered from country to country checking out some of the live performances (like the moving human statues in Italy) and had dessert there. My best advice is to do the opposite as most people. Hit the park the second it opens and bee line it for the best rides when the lines are short. I grab the ride passes when the lines start to form and if it is a ride my wife and daughter didn't want to do; they grabbed passes and my son and I would ride twice. During the peak hours of the afternoon, we would go back to our hotel, take a nap, hit the pool, or just relax. We'd eat an early dinner catch a 2nd wind and back to the park in the evening.

                  Agreed.

I'd also rather go to the Smithsonian, and something like The Field Museum in Chicago (dinosaur exhibit)...and both the Zoo and Sea World in San Diego...

The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are always old favorites at the Magic Kingdom...At Hollywood Studios it's The Tower of Terror and the new Toy Story Mania is pretty cool. Epcot the big draw is always the Old World Showcase...And at Animal Kingdom the only good thing is the Nemo show (the rest I can do without).

We've been 6 times since '94 and are planning to go again in Spring 2012...

I've always wanted to see the Haunted Mansion.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

^Me too. We had our tickets and were ready to go last year...and my son fell and dislocated his hip just about two weeks before hand. We ended up canceling the trip, and went to the beach instead. He wouldn't have been able to ride anything. Thank goodness we never told the kids!!!

Have fun. Buy one of those independent Disney guide books. We have one and used it to plan out our trip...although we never got to use it!!!

There is a ride over near Pirates of the Carribbean....maybe "Splash Mountain"? Everyone bee lined it over to it when the gates opened, so we simply grabbed those fast passes and rode Pirates of the Carribbean and the Jungle Cruise multiple times with no line until we hit the fast pass line. If it still exists, that's the way to go. Disney has been creative in making it look like the fast pass line is as long as the regular line but moves much faster. We went with a basic plan of what to hit first but kept an open mind. If the lines were long and I had a fast pass, might as well ride "It's a Small World" a couple of times rather than stand in the hot sun. I also find the shows to generally be good (even the ones that aren't the 4-D). A lot of visitors bypass them altogether but we find it to be a nice break from standing in line all day and catch a breather.

I am lucky in that I live 50 miles outside of Washington D.C. and have been to the Smithsonian at least 10-20 times and still feel like I have only scratched the surface. Also, live about 30 miles from Gettysburg, 20 miles from Harper's Ferry, and 20 miles from Antietam. It's crazy when I hear neighbors tell me they have never been to any of these sites. It doesn't cost a dime to go to any of these sites or museums....people travel from all over the world to see them and many locals have never visited.....crazy!
