Anyone else a fan of roller derby?

I have couple friends who skate women's flat track derby. I manage to get to a couple of bouts a year. Last night was a fantastic double header. First it was the G-Rap Attack vs. the Lansing Derby Vixens. And then it was the Grand Raggidy All Stars vs. Toronto's CN Power. Two awesome bouts! Other than being half deaf from the stadium horns and the CN Power Tower mascot being a little creepy, it was a fun night.

It's nights like last night that really make me hate this vertigo and motion sickness that I suffer from. I would LOVE to be out there skating!

Hey Rallygirl!

One of my good friends Adam Swinbourne is heavily involved in the T.O. Derby scene, so I've been to a few matches. It's really fun.

Adam's created a bazillion posters for the league and also created the logo for the Gore Gore Rollergirls:





One of these days I have to work with him on updating his website with all his Derby work, but check out his rock/punk posters and fliers. He's been doing this stuff since '93:

I followed it off and on over the years. I have a friend who's in a league in England.....I recently designed a tatoo for her.....I use to love when they would give it on regular tv here in NY....

My younger cousin skates for a local team. Looks like fun.

Small world, I did some officiating a couple of years ago for the Toronto league when they were first getting started, but stopped due to Lack of free time. I ran into a friend of mine at Wizard world a few months ago where they were promoting the league and she suggested I volunteer again. we'll see how I'm feeling during the winter.

I've got some friends in the Detroit league but I didn't manage to make it to any bouts this past season.

They were in the process of merging the two local leagues into Toronto Roller Derby. The practices were being held out in Oshawa and on the U of T campus at the time.

I have a friend who skates in the Dallas area, don't know what team, alas.

A Co worker was doing it and i tried to go see her but the timing never worked out.
