I saw it in the theatre when it first ran, loved it but never thought it would be the phenom it is now. It and Christmas vacation are must sees in my household.

Only caught it once today and I missed the Chinese restaraunt scene, which bummed me out.

My favorite Christmas movie. My wife doesn't like it for some reason that I find completely inexplicable.

Well, I watched A Christmas Story three times, and saved it on my Comcast HD DVR for a near future later viewing, lol.

I believe A CHRISTMAS STORY has replaced IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE as the top Christmas movie

it's a cult classic to be sure. you should check out the " christmas story house" website too . A Christmas Story House . It's the guy that bought the house and fixed it up. We are planning on going next year to he Thanksgiving thing . I want to get my houses and script signed by some more of the cast members.
the guy bought the house off ebay and if fixing it up to the original state. has props etc throughout.
              very cool

I bought the DVD a couple of years ago to replace my crappy homemade VHS tape copy. Even though I own a copy of my own, the only time I ever watch the movie now is at Christmas when TBS runs the marathon. It's not Christmas here without watching it intermittently throughout the holidays.

Ya know the kid who was "triple-dog-dared" & got his tongue frozen to the pole?? He had a hard time later trying to get acting roles & ended up doing p0rn0 movies....for real!
Yes, it was mentioned here previously.

Does anyone know a female over the age of 10 who does like this movie? My wife, mother, and sister all hate it and think it is the dumbest movie made.

                      This is a guy's movie!!!

Actually the first time I saw it back in the 80's I wasn't immediately drawn to it.

I stuck with it and loved it with each additional viewing. I still put it a tad behind "It's a Wonderful Life" but there are so many multiple scenes from that movie that are just classic.

Everyone is right about it being a guy movie. My wife can not sit through a full viewing of it and has not watched it beginning to end.
