Young children getting into super heroes

My latest girlfriend of a year has an 8 year old daughter (Kaitlyn) who has decided to leave this on my desk before she went to school. It was a cute surprise while shuffling through receipts and paper work.

Kaitlyn often wanders into the "Mego room" and stares at the 250 some figures for about fifteen minutes sometimes and is dying to get her hands on a few of them.

    While I'm working I hear.....
"Hey Cat who is this? Who is that? Hey Cat, what's that guy's power? Why is that girl green? How come Superman has gray hair?
I hear that for about a half and hour before I have to say I need to get to work. lol Then, she'll come back sometimes with colored pencils and start drawing a few super heroes in her drawing pad.

Thankfully my custom Avenger's Mansion is about three stories and way up on top of a big dresser, she'll never be able to reach those. Bawhahahaha
Plus the other ones are behind my large desk. She'll never get to those shelves while I am working in there but she can see them as clear as day.

(I usually lock the door to the room later on for safety reasons when I am not occupying the room. Too many valuable stuff to have messed up, not say she would do it.)

Once in awhile I get out some of the older junky ones. I may pick her up a few beaters. If anyone has a beater or two they'd want to sell this could be something I could do for it I guess. She also has been eyeballing my comic collection.

Just when I think my youngest daughter may be losing that "fun kid feeling" who is turning fourteen :(but is still into the custom business! Then along comes another little one from my current girlfriend she introduces to us. It kind of makes it more fun again for my daughter and I )

There have also been shows like Marvel's Super Hero Squad that I noticed that are children orientated to try and get them into them. I think it's cool that young children pick up on things so quickly.

I guess this one was aimed for me personally and I thought it was very cute and I had to share it with you. It's just one of those things an 8 year old child does to try and reach out and bond with her mother's boyfriend. I think it's adorable and I'm going to hang it up.
Her Mom also informed me she has been on a quest making more super hero cartoons in her little art book.

I told her she can come to the Hobby Lobby with my to pick out stencils for a Riddler car. Lots of little question marks...the fact I let her add a layer of purple to the seat made her overjoyed but I fixed it up and when I'm done she'll at least have the feeling she helped with the car. lol

Perhaps it's in the name? My little one Kaitlynn is almost two and her favorite room in the house is Daddy's. She just loves to stare at the loose on the shelf and carded ones on the walls... thankfully with the Retro Actions she has her very own to play with but I'm so tickled when she comes in and just wants to take over my chair and just look at 'em all and smile. Hands down Superman is her favorite ( just like dear old dad) with Batman following in second place... the third most favorite for her is Monkey (aka Cornelius) and Momma (aka Dinah). And the even bestest part is that she came to this affection all on her own
