      This just in from espn.com

Carson Palmer has asked for another trade or he'll retire once again. The guy in the end zone with the spikes on his shoulder pads looking like Road Warrior Hawk scares him. Until his season tickets are revoked, he will not play another game for the silver and black.

I imagine that Kyle Boller will start this Sunday? Otherwise, it will be a very short playbook. It will be interesting to see what kind of playing shape Palmer is even in both physically and mentally.
        It's all good!

Maybe the Patriots will release Chad and he can go join his buddy. Ochocinco isn't doing anything in NE. He's got less balls coming his direction than Susan Boyle. I could totally see this falling into place.

As a Raiders fan, I'm thrilled by the trade, and I couldn't care less what the general perception of Palmer's character is. In my opinion, and this was formed way before I had any idea the Raiders would land him, Carson was more than justified in his stance with the Bengals . That organization is an absolute joke, and I think he just grew tired of all the distractions created by his low-character, criminal team mates, as well as the penny-pinching antics of that buffoon, Mike Brown (sure, he was personally being paid extremely well, but the Bengals are traditionally cheap when it comes to dealing with salaries and benefits).
As far as him quitting on his team mates, how do you feel about the players who put themselves above the team by being arrested time and time again? Carson, rather than making a bunch of noise about his situation, instead chose to take a firm stance that he'd rather retire than play any longer for this dysfunctional organization. He wasn't in the headlines daily making demands and discussing the situation. I think he handled the situation with class, and I look forward to seeing him in Silver & Black.

Good move. Jason Campbell was a thorn in the Redskins side for years. You really wanted to see him succeed and he would have days when he would just be on and look like an elite quarterback only to turn around the next week and watch him throw interceptions, make really bad decisions, etc. Redskins fans generally liked him and I think coaches did as well. He was just so inconsistent. Now we are dealing with Rex Grossman. We really want to like him but throwing 4 picks against the Eagles and 2 the previous game. Redskins fans are unforgiving to an extent but he already has the reputation of throwing interceptions. Don't know if Shannahan will stick with him or give Beck the start.

As a Bear fan I will tell you that good Rex-bad Rex will drive you nuts!

And Beck is starting the next game.

I heard about Beck taking the start. Looks like Shanahan isn't going to mess around. If Beck starts throwing picks; I guess it is off to make a trade or pick someone up in next year's draft.

Yup, terrible deal for the raiders. As someone else said, he was never the same guy after his leg got broken and he had some big weapons.

As long as he knows how to hand the ball to DMac, he's OK with me. If his passing takes the pressure of the running game, all the better.

He's worth taking a risk on but not worth 2 first round choices. I'm not a Raiders fan but I don't hate them either. I'd kind of like seeing them get back to the glory days where they took on a player that everyone gave up on and you saw a great comeback in that person's career. That hasn't worked out too well for them in a number of years though and especially at quarterback.

Yea i like palmer a lot but 2 first picks is a little scary

they probably could've gotten someone else for that, but I think he'll be good

I think Carson Palmer is a name brand pick. Whether he actually works out, remains to be seen. I for one would love to see the Raiders return to glory. I love the old school teams rising again, like the Packers. Maybe someday Dallas will too? But I think Palmer is a system kind of guy. He reminds me of Aikman. He works well in a system. Take him out of that system and he struggles. So here is the question for Carson Palmer - How quickly can he adapt to the Raiders? And how effective can he be until he finds a comfort zone? Those are the keys. His name will not win games. And teams will throw every blitz package at him to keep him off balance. My instinct tells me it's a risky bet at best. I say that too because the Bengals are not only surviving without Palmer, their thriving. Coincidence or cause and effect as a result of this change at QB? The middle half of this season could give us those answers.
