Anybody else always watch WW2 stuff on the Military Channel ?

All the time Mikey! It's amazing how "lucky" Hitler was after you learn of all the times he was targeted for assassination. I have learned quite a bit watching some of those shows. Secrets of WWII is one of my favorites. The episode named The Corpse That Fooled the Axis is a very good one.

I love anything WWII. If you haven't seen it, there is a show called "The Third Reich - The Rise" and a second one called "The Third Reich - The Fall". Fascinating stuff, JOHN

He killed himself after he made sure Eva was dead. She took both poison and he shot her. There were a few remaining eye witnesses that were there and they tried to burn his body. The Russians found the remains along with the bodies of Joseph Goebbels, his wife, and their 6 children. I also highly recommend anyone interested in WWII to read the Goebbels diaries. Very interesting reading. There are people that want to believe Hitler faked his death, etc. but I have studied so much about this that there is just too much evidence that points to his suicide being factual. Russia used their information as a tool in the cold war but by 11 May 1945, the Soviets had already had Hitler's dentist Hugo Blaschke and his dental technician confirm the dental remains found were Hitler's and Eva Braun's.

            Death of Hitler

There have been books written on this and it would take an entire forum to really discuss this but I will just say that if he had lived and escaped don't think for one minute that Israel wouldn't have found him. They found Adolf Eichmann among others and they would have eventually found Hitler too.

On that subject if you are interested study the life and work of Simon Wiesenthal. He hunted down a number of Nazi war criminals and was a great man who did great work. His story is fascinating!

            Simon Wiesenthal

As I mentioned I have studied a lot of information regarding WWII and the Third Reich. I am Jewish so this period of time is of a huge importance to me for both that reason alone and because I like learning about history. I wish the schools did a better job of teaching our children about this dark period of history. There is so much information that they could easily take an entire semester to teach this subject.

Sadly our son knows more about this then his teacher. He had to correct her as she didn't think Hitler was old enough to serve in WWI. He had to tell her that Hitler was a corporal who's job was to run messages back and forth from the front lines. Bradley was even asked to help with a display the school did about WWII so we let him bring in some of the artifacts that we have including a genuine Star of David patch and a German stamp used to stamp the paperwork that sent people to the Bergen-Belsen camp.

I remember seeing a show not too long ago on the Military Channel and they said the Soviet Union has a peice of Hitler's skull ... They even showed it.... You can see a bullet hole in it.

They said Stalin had a weird fascination with Hitler and kept the skull part as kind of a trophie.

              BTW, Brad
Did they ever make any nazi hunter movies ?
That would be a neat subject for a movie

They recently did testing on the skull fragment and found out that it was not Hitler's.

^The bit about Hitler's skull was on History Channel's Mystery Quest. I liked that better than their Monster Quest show.

I'd read a very interesting story about Adolf a while back and it always stuck with me. While on the front line in WWI, he sought shelter in a foxhole with a few other troops during a shelling. He fell asleep from exhaustion and was awken to a horrible dream that actually made him jump up and run across the field. He could have been completely delusional or was halucinating. IN any case less than a minute after this his foxhole was destroyed and all occupants killed. You gotta wonder what horrific vision he saw that saved his life...
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

She's cute. I always liked that show.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I do too Mikey! Always have. I just couldn't resist the joke since I know some people find her (or more accurately her laugh) annoying.

She'd be hot if she was a mute.

Back on topic, just how badass was Hitler's bodyguard. I mean, when the entire world wants him dead, how the hell did he keep him alive to the very end? That's pretty impressive, even for a Nazi.
