Do you remember this Video game?

I remember playing it at a arcade in the 80's, but can't recall the name of it.

it was like Galaga where alien waves would come down at you.
    however each wave was different
one wave looked like green Tie Fighters from Star Wars but had a dot on the center of the middle of it. another looked like yellow draconian fighters from Buck Rogers.

    does anyone else remember this?

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Megamania came to mind as I was reading your post. That probably isn't it as the things that come at you are hamburgers and steam irons and such. But they almost look like space ships. That was a great game. By far my favorite from the Atari days.

Was it Tempest? My best friend and I loved playing this game when we were younger. We had a great arcade at the mall located 5 minutes away from us. We both got pretty good at it too. Use to make it up to the invisible level(s).

That's quite possible, I remember playing it on our original Atari. Awesome game. They had a program where if you got a score of over like 50,000, you could take a photo of your screen and mail it in to become an official Megamaniac. I hit well over 150,000 after oodles of hours on it and took a polaroid and sent it in. I think I got a T-shirt and certificate and I don't remember what else.

Megamania was pretty hard. The little saucers would go off the screen and scroll toward you as they reappeared. You can get it along with many other Atari 2600 titles on the Stella video game emulator along with Atari rom packs at almost any emulation site. Also if you search on google you can get an USB Atari joystick around the $25 or $30 range.

Nope none of the ones mentioned yet. it was space based. each wave was a different kind of ship and diffewrent color.
