The Javits show has just gotten out of hand. It's trying to be San Diego. Your kids will probably love the show Vin...but if you are going to go to buy vintage anything...good luck. I had a good time last year...but it was only because of meeting up with guys from the Museum. I bought some original art and the 2 Castaway CA exclusives...and that was it. Everything is overpriced...and forget about anything vintage. I hope you have deep pockets Vin. At least you won't have to pay for the kids...cause if you did, you'd be in the red for about $120 - $150 before you get in...and that's not counting parking or train. Shows aint what they used to be.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
I had a blast with some of the Museum Folks last year and the only major reason why I went...didn't hear that other folks were going, so I made no plans.
I wanted to take my son but was looking for some free passes from some folks that I know, but we couldn't make it work.
I know the kids will love it...and it's an experience for sure...but even I couldn't find much to buy except for Art's Books (Aw Yeah!!!).
Have Fun, but don't expect much as a collector
Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!
I just got back and was actually fairly dissaponted, only bought 2 retro action and 2 dr. who. there was nothing all that special unlike last year, also some people were too creepy
