    Hey Netflix streamers..

In your account settings, you can manage video quality for streaming: Good, Better, and Best. This is for people who need to manage bandwidth for various reasons.

I have my setting at Best since I'm streaming to an HDTV thru a B-R player, with a hardline broadband connection. The problem is that apparently my "turbo" hi-speed still isn't fast enuff to handle the bandwidth.. whatever I'm watching will pause and buffer many times during streaming. Sometimes it gets so bad that I just have to stop. Who can watch a movie when it pauses for 10 secs every two minutes?

I can adjust the quality down, but it looks like crap at "Good" setting. Better is, um, better, but not by much.

So does anyone else have buffering issues?

Is your broadband connection DSL or Cable modem? DSL speeds tend to be much slower and have the problems you are experiencing. I have my setting at best and I have no problems streaming movies. Heck, even through my wireless router to my iPad works fine.

Cable. I'm mostly on wifi for computers, but there's an ethernet connection from my wireless router into the B-R player. I speed tested it, and it's normally in the 15-20 MBps range.

What happens when you stream through your computer? I guess it's possible that the BR player isn't handling the signal properly.

I stream through the Roku box, which automatically pulls the best quality it can from the connection speed at the time.

I've never streamed a movie over the computer. I've only streamed a handful of movies over the BR player in the 10 months I've had it, and there were no buffering issues initially.

The Sony site says broadband speed fluctuations are the main culprit in buffering problems. The BR player establishes a fixed streaming rate before the movie starts, and if your connection speed tends to fluctuate (as mine does), then there can be issues.
