Hall and Oates vs Simon and Garfunkel

Of the two, which was the best duo ?

I think S&G wins this one easy

    What do you say ?

Depends on how you define best....personal preference, objective measures such as record sales, awards, etc.

I personally like H&O if I look over their entire library compared to S&G but my favorite song of the two goes to S&G. I might be wrong but I think H&O are commercially more successful in terms of more songs on Billboard charts, record sales, etc. Part of that might be due to different eras plus S&G's on and off relationship.

Like others have said it seems like an apples to oranges comparison.

Problem is can anyone think of another duo big enough to go against H&O or S&G ?

That's why I put them together

          They are pop/rock's biggest duos

Even the Everly's don't come close to either

Tall blonde dudes paired with short dark haired guys, it's a small category...but S&G wins simply on the basis of the short one being married to Carrie Fisher.

To me Paul Simon is a genius - Hall & Oats were great pop dudes in their era.

Hall and Oats. Do not care for Simon and Garfunkel.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I like Hall & Oates better overall. But I do like S&G's Scarborough Far/Canticle. I even sang it in Jr. Hi choir.

I do not care for any of their music. Nothing wrong with it. Just not to my tastes.

Paul Simon had alsome solo music in the eighties to.
Respect Simon and Garfunkels contributions to music though...
