I was just like Sandy prior to my surgeries...but now that I have nerve damage throughout my body (and nearing 50)...I avoid physically confrontation at almost all costs...it would take a lot more than some jackass slamming my truck (although my Mustang would be a different story, lol) to make me punch his lights out...I'd say if someone deliberately pushes my elderly mom or something...then that dude would be looking at some type of hospital stay...nerve damage notwithstanding...that dude is going down.

Glad you took out a drunk driver off the streets, Sandy...hope the drunk jerk gets confined with Big Bad Bubba...he'd be the one getting "slammed"...if you know what I mean...

The only thing we have to really worry about...there are a lot of wannabe Charlie Bronson's with concealed weapons...so be careful guys.

Also...many people are lawsuit trigger happy...and you yourself could go to jail.

He should be thankful it wasn't my late uncle. He would have beat the snot out of him then ask "Did it hurt? Good. Because I didn't feel a thing."

I hate fighting, too, but that's still relatively awesome.

First...you will go to jail...and your family would suffer.

              Second, remember your neighbor?

You know...the one that got shot and now wears a colostomy bag?

No matter how baddass you are...there's always a coward with a gun who will use it...just be careful out there, that's all I'm saying, Damien.

I killed a man with my bare hands when he took the last box of Frankenberry in the grocery store this morning. Nobody messes with my Frankenberry!

same goes for this story, the guy could have been a complete loon with a knife or gun in the car. Not really a smart move to pick a fight in the street with a complete unknown situation. I personally would not be very proud of this if I were in the situation.

Glad everything worked out Sandy! Considering how crazy that guy acted getting out of the car, I thought you handled yourself in a very calm and intelligent manner. Clearly he was trying to provoke you verbally and you didn't take the bait. But when he starts nailing your car, that has become a case of self defense. You can either sit there and become a victim or do something about it. If he was in possession of a gun or knife, I think he would have played that hand by this point. So it sounds like you had assessed the risks before you got out. Calling the cops and letting them handle it likely would have led to this guy lunging at one of them getting himself shot and killed. So you likely saved his life and possibly someone else had he tried to drive off. Well done sir!!

Last year a was leaving the mall after a charity event and saw a young black male snooping in the backseat of my car. If I went back for security, he'd have been gone. If I yelled at him, he cou;d've been armed....so, I grabbed the dude by the back of his jacket. As he turned around, I drilled him in the mouth as hard as could.

He was laid out next to my car, I pushed him away with my boot far enough to get in and drive away. My hand bleed like a siv and I told my wife I fell on the ice.
I still have the scar. Sometimes it actually makes sense to punch someone in the face.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Sandy's act, I'm glad the guy is built like a brick and kicked that drunk's arse...I'm just adding my two extra cents about unstable crazies packing weapons...just a head's up to other people who might not posses Sandy's physical abilities...rest assure...had I been there...I would've backed him up 100%...you can be sure of that...

Personally,I wouldn't have gotten out of the car, I have to much to loose over an idiotic street fight to potentially get hurt or thrown in jail for assault. Job, family, house, etc.

Glad to hear everything worked out. I recently had that encounter at the store with a guy who was looking for a physical altercation that just ended up being an exchange of words and me giving him his "supposed" personal space to avoid any further escalation.

I do know if he had made any motion that suggested it was going to get physical; I would have thrown the first punch (and I use that term loosely as I more than likely would have given him the hardest kick the crotch he's ever received...I don't believe in rules if it has to get physical). I realize you are always running the risks of guns/knives etc. and in my case it was just defusing and let him have his space.

sometimes you have to stand your ground and not back away. it can be worse to have walked (or drive away in this case) what would he have done to the next person?
