Ha...yeah Mike I just posted this on your old thread

      NEW YORK —
Netflix generates more head-scratching plot twists than a cheap B-movie.

On Monday, the company said it would reverse a previously announced decision to put its DVD-by-mail and Internet streaming services on separate websites, a plan that was widely derided by Netflix subscribers.

People will be able to use both services under one account and one password, CEO Reed Hastings said Monday in a blog post.

This is just another reason why I am done with them. They don't have a clue what they are doing anymore. I don't have any confidence in that company whatsoever.

I've noticed Blockbuster has been running tons of TV commercials this past month

Wonder if they're doing really good picking up Netfix's old customers ?

We typically use Redbox these days. But I'll tell you the new wrinkle I'm finding with them. Some of their movies are manufactured so cheap they freeze up in my Blue ray player. And that's after I have cleaned the player and disc. And it only happens with their discs! So I know my player is good.

Unless Netflix reduces prices they still arent going to get any business back.

I read Netflix's stock shares went from $299.00 to $130.00 this past month

Nasty ... It's like they're jumping out a window and taking all their holders with them

Maybe they had a buyer set up to purchase the DVD mail part of the business and the deal fell through.

With that said, yes Netflix stock plummeted since the announcement. It isn't rebounding from the recent news release. It will take a while for the market to re-trust the CEO so the price probably is going up anytime soon. I remember I owned Starbucks stock years ago and the CEO Howard Schulz was making some dumb moves by buying internet based furniture companies and other strange investments stating that he saw Starbucks as more of a lifestyle than a brand of coffee. The stock got clobbered. He finally came to his senses and the stock resumed its ascent once the mistake was forgiven by Wall Street.

they aren't getting me back to by mail till they drop the price. 7.99 for streaming only is a great deal, tho.

Redbox doesn't manufacture the movies, they get them from the studios. It's more likely customer abuse causes your problems by the time they get to you.

Or the studio makes rentals of worse, better or same quality like they do for Netflix

Most of Netflix's Universal DVD's seem to be of better quality than ones you buy in the store --- for one thing they're not double-sided

netflix is backpedaling because of how many cancelled subscriptions they got after that announcment and the resultant plummeting of their stock. I think unless they give some really, really good incentive, they will not get back the people who left, myself included and their days are numbered. people no longer trust them. the CEO should be fired. he does not know what the hell he is doing

wow, Netflix just got hit with a nuclear bomb. Lost 800,000 subscribers after jacking up prices and tried to spinoff the streaming business from dvd line. Stock price just dropped 30% after the announcement and market closed. Glad I don't own this stock. I think I would be sick to my stomach right now.
