    question about paypal

Has anyone verified their account? I am leery about hooking up my bank account to paypal. I don't understand why they need bank account info when it is just charging to my credit card. I am nearing my limit and don't want to be left without paypal but also don't want to link my account. what do you all think?

Yes, I have. Not only does it help PP know you are you, it helps ebay sellers know it as well. Plus, you can transfer funds from PP to your bank account if you are a seller, not to mention add funds to your PP from your bank account.

I agree, you can also set up a second account, if you don't fell comfortable with PP being linked to your main account.

I'm verified, I had to in order to accept credit card payments through Paypal for my ebay sales.
NOTE! after you are verified the default payment option on your account is the bank account - if you want to pay with your credit card you have to "change method of payment" every time you pay for something.

i think you only need to verify when you sell, not buy

PP had given me a spending limit a long while back...limit on credit card transactions that is. I am now approaching said limit and keep getting emails to verify to remove the limit. i do sell but very rarely and have never needed to be verified for that.

Like someone else said -- create another checking account and link that to your paypal account. keep the minimum balance required by the bank and your are good.

Actually this is not true. There are a lot of auctions where the seller states they will only ship to a verified address.

Another plus to doing so is if you have a debit card with your bank, with most banks starting to charge a monthly fee to use their debit card, you can get around that by transferring money to your Paypal account and using their debit card if you have one.
