1st Cancellation of the Fall Season is...

The Playboy Club....averaging only 3 million viewers and with the PTC breathing down NBC's neck they've decided to pull the plug. A high-profile show and the network caves, no tolerance anymore for under performers I guess.

(I've never watched it myself although I am digging ABC's Pan Am)

I watched 10 minutes of it. It was pretty and stylish and very stupid.

Pan Am is a tiny notch above it. Just pretty enough to be watchable.

It takes more than 60's wardrobe and set design to make a Mad Men.

These are big budget shows, they will have a short leash.

That's too bad. They should give new shows at least a chance. I hate investing in something only for it to be gone after 1, 3 or 5 episodes.

Good. Pretty boring show. 5-O is actually pretty good. I like Pan Am, too.

I thought you were going to say 'The New Girl'...might be the single-dumbest sitcom (and I use that term loosely) in history. My wife has a season pass for it on the DVR...I keep asking her 'why?'...how it got picked up for a full season is beyond me.

Hadn't seen any of The Playboy Club..you'd think someone could make that premise work on HBO (with nudity).

there were aspects to the Playboy Club (as well as characters) that worked very, very well. I loved the whole mafia murder storyline.

A lot of the characters were just...well...dumb bunnies.

Pan Am is a worse show in my opinion. A little good, a lot of bad.

I love the 60's vibe going on in both shows with the music, look, etc. But it always comes down to story and acting.

Playboy Club was much better to me storyline, while Pan Am has slightly better acting...but not by much.

Just heads up...some other shows about to get the ax:

1. Prime Suspects
2. Charlie's Angels
3. Free Agents

They are all on the way out it seems.

"New Girl" sucked so bad it made me rethink my Zooey crush. Sad.

Had no interest in Prime Suspect, but I'm surprised they'd pull that, Thursday night is such a deal with NBC. What else can they put in the ER slot?
