    Whale Watching in the LBC

The wife and I went out last weekend to Long Beach for some Blue Whale Watching. It was towards the tail end of the season, so we only saw one Whale and a real finicky punk he was. He kept taking long 10 minute dives and wouldn’t stay near the top of the water too long. I managed to capture a sliver of him above water in one pic, but that’s all. We did see a lot of happy Dolphins and some lazy Sea Lions. All in all, it was a very nice day.

You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

    That's pretty awesome!

I've also done the whale watching bit here in Northern Cali (been years though)...the Farallon Islands is a great place to see great whites much on seals...lol.

Blue whales, humpbacks, killer whales, dolphins, etc...pretty awesome...

The Farallon Islands are is were the first ever footage of a killer whale killing a great white was captured on tape (hard to see though, since most of the attack took place underwater)...the event was recorded by marine biologists on a boat.

Thanks to your great pics...I'm getting the bug again...whale season is in full swing now...perhaps it's time for another boat trip...

    Thanks for this awesome thread!

I'd love to see that. I don't live anywhere near the Ocean.
