Ice Cream is my downfall on sweets. I will eat two bowls of ice cream at a time (one reason why we don't have it constantly in our home). Personally, I like the Safeway brand of Dulce De Leche and Breyer's Carb Smart Chocolate. My kids stay away from both for some reason. They can't pronounce the first and presume the second is crummy ice cream. I usually will buy them Moose Tracks or Cookie Dough to divert their attention but find myself sampling their wares. Strange thing...when their ice cream runs out; they don't dig into ours."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

You can make your own Dulce de Leche ice cream that will be even better...because you can then add warm store bought Dulce de Leche (like hot fudge)...just get regular ice cream (any flavor you want)...just get a can or bottle of that caramel...warm it up...then pour it all over you ice cream...
You'd probably love Pastel de Tres Leches too...a very traditional Latin American cake...one of the moistest cakes you can devour...
I also love Cajeta...it's similar to Dulce de Leche...but instead of cow milk...it's goat milk...and it's DELICIOUS!
Cajeta over pancakes/waffles...Mexicans love to eat their pancakes/waffles like this...awesome...
...and of course...the classic Churros con Cajeta...
...and even better...stuffed Cajeta Churros...
The best Churros in Oakland are right here...a permanent street vendor in the Fruitvale District...you can also get them filled with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I mean...only $1.50 for a stuffed Churro? AWESOME!!!

I'll try to record something tomorrow...I'll make a simple strawberry/banana smoothie...it's basically about a cup of frozen strawberries, one frozen banana, a cup of milk, a little water...some sugar or agave nectar...a drop of pure extract vanilla...and for the heck of it...a little ice as well.
Pretty simple...the key is a decent powered blender.
Ice cream sherberts are a tad harder for regular blenders though...you need lots of power for those...plus a tamper for pushing things down to the blades...
...but you should be OK with smoothies...

I LOVE tres leches cake! I gotta hunt down that Dulce De Leche syrup too, that sounds awesome.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

Yeah, Tres Leches cake is the way to go...lol.
Here...keep thinking of Cajeta...so you can go and get some soon...
The beauty of Cajeta...is that it's so rich and flavorful...that all you need to do is pour it over plain bread...and presto...instant yumminess...

I have a Magic Bullet and when my mom was sick I was the smoothie queen. It was the fastest way to get nutrients in her that she could tolerate. In fact, our last 4th of July, we were gathered in her room by the big bay window so we could watch the fireworks and she was sipping away on a strawberry mango smoothie."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment
