I use to collect Joes as well, sold my collection when I had like 60 figures
Oh, I totally understand as well.. Jeez, after the first year of Playmate Next Gens came out.., I did a lot of interstate driving between jobs and I kept stopping off at Targets and Kmarts along the way to find rare figures.

I love.. 'the Hunt', in and of itself. Despite enjoying what we have, it's what makes life great!

I'm STILL looking for vintage stuff I didn't know existed, that once I find I won't be able to live without..
      Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

Glad you found that grail piece. It is rather an odd design choice.
          It's all good!

I am always looking even though I feel like certain collections are almost complete. I feel like I own just about every collectible Washington Redskins pennant made, but every once in a while one pops up that I have never seen before. Another thing that keeps me looking is the interest in upgrading the condition. I'm always looking to upgrade an item to one in better condition which keeps me involved in the hobby. Months pass without a purchase but still look. I also enjoy educating others on items but I have also learned my lesson on this one as well and only spend time educating those that are interested because they collect.

It never ceases to amaze me what people enjoy collecting.

We did a charity auction for the church about a year ago where we sold off the largest collection of Cuspidors I had ever seen - all from one collector who had spent a lifetime collecting them.

I'd never seen that many spittoons in one place before in my life!

Reconstructing your childhood (or an idealized version of it) can sometimes take a lifetime to complete.

One other thing I will usually do when the hunt is effectively over is focusing my energy that would otherwise be spent searching; displaying the items I have collected in the manner I had envisioned.
