                                          Full Metal Jacket
                                          Braveheart
                                          Glory
                                          Apocalypse Now
                                          Starship Troopers...yes...don't laugh...I said it...Starship Troopers...it's a kickass war flick...

                                          I really wanted to list both Der Untergang (Downfall), Schindlers List, and Inglourious Basterds...but although they are set during WWII...there are no real full scale battles shown...so I'm forced to list them as honorable mention...

                                              I'm glad you listed that one...we shouldn't limit ourselves to one type of war genre...I'm all for listing fantasy and sci-fi war themed stuff as well...

                                                  Wow, don't think I could narrow it to five and love all the movies mentioned (still haven't seen Captain America but looking forward to it). I will just add Gladiator and Band of Brothers (if that counts) to the list.
