Glad you guys like him (and Jim knew of him already)...Marc Martel has the goods...hope Roger Taylor picks him...and makes us forgot about Paul Rodgers altogether...
That is eerie. Darken has hair and stache and he could be a young Freddie. If he doesn't win there is something seriously wrong with that contest.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I kinda got chills running down my spine for a moment.
That guy is fantastic. Even the way he uses his voice is so like Freddy.
You know, it has always bothered me, being a Queen fan, not just Mercury, that the band never really kept playing. All of them were a major part of the group, not just Freddy. I know Deacon didn't want to anymore, and I never liked the Paul Rodgers collaboration.
Please, please, let this be the beginning of something new!!!!
I agree.
Many Queen fans want Queen to stop playing (as well as John Deacon himself)...because of Freddie's death of course.
And hey...I respect that...I'm not going to argue about that.
But...
Why? Queen is my band...the band I love the most...the band that I saw live the most...the band that influenced me the most...I want to keep hearing them forever and ever...I think Freddie would have wanted that for his fans...so yeah...Brian May and Roger Taylor...you guys keep on rocking...and give this guy...Marc Martel...a spot on your 2012 tribute concert tour. If Queen stops by Oakland...I'm getting my tickets (Paul Rodgers never made me wanna get tickets)...oh yeah...I'm going, baby...you better believe it...
If they plan on performing historic Queen tunes only (up through Made In Heaven) I'm OK with this...as a tribute. If they plan to create & perform new material, I'm not so sure. Freddie contributed much, much, much more than vocals.
It's sorta like Krieger and Manzarek touring as the Doors without Morrison and Densmore.
That's not the Doors.
And without Mercury and Deacon, it's gonna be a group that should be called May-Martel and Taylor, something more like a tribute band than Queen. Putting that in perspective, they can do whatever they like.
