    Me Best }

    Marilyn Manson
    Zep
    Pantera
Old school Metallica,.. anything Black & before
5th spot right now Velvet Revolver,.STP/G&R. just can't get enough of their tunes after the concert I went to.

Honorable Mentions,.. Prince, Beatles, Elvis, Slipnot, Mudvaine, & Zombie. .. I like all sorts.

    Bands I think just Blow }

Avenged Sevenfold. Man, I can't get into them. All their songs sound like they should not even go together.
Not fond of the Deftones,.. everytime I hear a toon from them, it sounds so depressing.
Kiss,.. sorry I like thier "look" & marketing stratetgy, however I was not a kid of the 70's, so I think everything but rock'in roll all night is just horrible.
Boy George & the culture club. Man,.. what kinda Crap was that ?
& Agreed on Striper... Man, that was seriously a bad time for "Hair Bands".

With the exception of Stryper,.. all the bands I named are very rich, or were I assume, so they must have reached out to someone.

Also agreed on all the Boy Banded pop artists... however I do not consider them rock bands.

This was really, really tough for me. If this poll was classified in music types I could break it down easier.

          To me...
          This best bands are

          1. Beatles (John, Paul, Ringo and George. They say if the Beatles appeared today as a new band they couldn't even buy a record contract. Yeah, so what. Come on, look around this place. The Beatles are like the George Washington of rock bands. Besides John Lennon being my biggest idol, no one has been able to touch the Beatles. At least if they do, they just rip them off.)
          2. Led Zeppelin
          3. Deep Purple (Ian Gillan on vocals only. Rod Evans, David Coverdale, Glen Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner had no business singing for Deep Purple. I am glad Ian Gillan is back and has never left the band since his return in 95)
          4. Van Halen (With David Lee Roth only. The version with Sammy Haggar was and should not have been called Van Halen. To me, it wasn't.)

          5. Kiss (As long as there is Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, it will be KISS. Everything they have put out I own and I love. They are my favorite hard rock band because they crossed and combined the boundaries of show and music. No one can touch that.)

There are tons of them. But here are the five I hate the worse that I hate..

          1. Limp Bizkit (God, I hate Fred Durst)
          2. Korn (The singer of this band is a whiny ***** and it really ****ed me off when they used the puke-face as the singing voice of the vampire Lestat in queen of the Damned when he sang. That ruined the whole movie! When I originally read that book I originally pictured a Ronnie James Dio or maybe a Peter Steele voice for Lestat's singing voice. They killed that whole movie for me using the jerk off from Korn's singing voice. What were they thinking?)
          3. The monkees (I hate anything to do with making fun of the Beatles and trying to be funny. These guys started out as a joke and little teeny girls took them serious. They suck and can't even play their own instruments)
          4. The Pink Floyd version with Syd Barret (Can you say crap? I hate it when people praise this version of Pink Floyd. As far as I am concerned, Pink Floyd didn't start until David Gilmore joined the band.)
          5. Primus (Why do people like these guys? Let me take my bass and play it like a guitar and sing into a microphone like I am ********. Nuff' said. They suck.)

Christian Rock band that KISS's label tried to push off and they failed miserably. I got the LP I picked up at a junk store because it looked cool and I was curious who it was. Now I know.

Did RATT open for bands at any time post-1984 thru the end
of their "heyday" in the 80s?

Either way----when did you see them?

I hear Ratt's singer has a horrible rep as a "live frontman" type
but I remember loving the show I saw, but, then again, I was 14
and it was my first arena show
My wife wanted to go to Poison this year with Ratt opening for them. Good music but Ratt did nothing to get the crowd into it. Really a boring performance.

We have to be honest...even at the risk of offending.

Wrathdemon listed "The Monkees"...and I didn't say a word. I LOVE the Monkees! And to be fair...every one of them could sing, and they eventually did learn to play Thier Instruments.

That's basically the "word on the street". A shame.
(or as Ratt would say: A "Shame, Shame, Shame")

Wrathdemon listed "The Monkees"...and I didn't say a word. I LOVE the Monkees! And to be fair...every one of them could sing, and they eventually did learn to play Thier Instruments.
I never jived with the idea of deriding a band just because they didn't play their
instruments or something of that nature---I mean if you like "them" you like "them"
---for better or for worse---ya know?

I appreciate the MONKEES and what they brought to the table as a manufactured
and calculated BEATLES "ripoff" Their history as frustrated musicians and superstar icons
is interesting and their rock legacy is undeniable.

I liked the stuff I head off of JUSTUS, the album where they played all the
stuff, COMPLETELY themselves for the first time...and their 60s show cracks me up
