I've heard that story before Hector, but I still find that fascinating. You knew about the existence of Ledys decades before almost all of us did. If you would have told collectors back around 1990 that the Megos released in Mexico when you were a kid were different, most probably would have said that you were full of crap.

The thing about Mexican culture...is that they are not too keen on collecting pop culture stuff...only a few do that...perhaps now a lot more collect thanks to the internet and eBay...but back in the 70s...the thought of collecting was a rather alien concept...

...and once I got back to the USA...I realized what a dummy I was...

I'll be 44 in November. My first Mego was a bearded AJ in a dark blue jumper. Then WGSH came out and it was all downhill from there.

I'm 29, as stated earlier. I think my earliest memory of Mego was when I was a teenager and taking the train into Manhattan from Long Island and seeing the KISS dolls in a store called "Loves Saves the Day". I've always thought older stuff was cooler than the current. Music, movies, toys, etc.

I think I kinda always had awareness of Mego stuff...but up until I started collecting it, I was under the assumption that it was high end, untouchable stuff.

40 here. According to his baptismal certificate,my late grandfather was younger than me. It listed his birth date as 1978 instead of 1918.
