Glad to see they are moving forward. Looking forward to the other companies following suit as well. Streaming is the future.
I for one am one of those that agree hard copies aren't necessary. Too cumbersome but yet, I love my vinyl records for nostalgia.
not good news for us or them. i will cancel the DVD option now as well, don't want to be bothered with 2 different accounts.....in fact i may even cancel altogether as the amount of movies available for streaming is getting less and less
I think hard copies will always be necessary for freedom's sake.
Without hard copies we must always be signed up and pay money to watch something - even over and over and over.
Must be a generational thing, Mikey.
I can state that my oldest daughter and her friends, and school mates, don't do much hard copies anymore. Mostly files.
Same applies with my friends and their kids. A lot of them are unloading their discs be it DVD or BR. It's just more convenient and flexible to have files.
Looks more like a trend to me.
Not just generational, but it also is probably a wealth class thing too.
The poor working class family who can't afford stuff like Netflix constantly has to buy hard copies of something they really like and want to watch over and over.

I thought the same thing until I was informed of smartphones becoming the home computers of low income families. Pretty big in Brazil. Easy to watch movies and music on your phone.
Time to invest in battery manufacturing companies. LOL
