    I need CD help!

Ok, using my new handy dandy laptop, I had this idea to burn the scary sounds from the old Gayle Record comic book offer, and give kids the CD this Halloween for Trick or Treat. The problem is that the files were downloaded one track at a time (except for side one of the record which was five minutes). It's also MP3 format (whatever that means). So I burn the first file (side 1), and put the disc back in to burn more but the computer won't let me!! So I think I just wasted a whole disc on one lousy 5 minute track! Is there any way to add more tracks? If not...what I've said all along is true....TAPES ARE BETTER!!

    Hmmmm....

What program are you using to burn the disk? I use Nero, and this sort of thing is pretty easy. At any rate, your is probably similar, so:
    -start with "burn audio cd"
-when the "add" screen comes up, slap on all the stuff you plan on putting on the disk. The program SHOULD convert them to.cda automaticly, and tell how much room you've got. Whwn full, puch "go," or "next," or whatever that program calls it.

Sometimes they won't let you add to a standard audio cd after burning. Sometimes they WILL: but there'll be a "allow files to be added after burning?" option you'll have to check to do it. Properly you should be lining all your files up at once and burning the whole disk at one go.

It has been a while since I have used it, but I'm pretty sure Window media will allow you to "rip" a cd (I don't know if they changed the lingo), save it in the .cda format and allow you to burn it onto cd's (make sure you are using the correct type of CD). If you have an older computer it might only have CD+R so a DVD+R won't work. Also, if you check ads at Staples and Office Depot, etc. I often find blank CD's and/or DVD's that are basically free after an instant rebate.

Ummm...I think it's Windows Media. This is a PC laptop, not a Mac.

But the files are separate. I burned the first track, but I can't burn the rest. Am I doing something wrong?

            MP3 is a good thing ...

Do you have all the tracks already downloaded and on your computer ?

If not, I suggest you get them all on your computer first before burning.

Then drag them all to the right on your "burn list"

Then try burning them all in one shot

It isn't showing up in the library so I can drag it. It just comes up when I click on my music file. One track will appear on the list when I hit play. But then when I go to the next track and play it, it knocks out the first one, so I can't get a playlist to burn all at once. AARRRGGHH!
