    My latest garage sale find

This isn't my actual unit, but mine is the same model. Also, mine isn't mint and doesn't have the box or papers. It's similar to a geiger counter. They were used by Civil Defence during the cold war.

I have a collection of vintage collectables from Coke stuff, cars, tube radios and the like, so this will fit in with everything.

If you want to test it to see if it works, buy Coleman lantern replacement elements. They are radio-active. I remember practicing with these in the early 80's in the Civil Air Patrol.

That's just a cool piece of nostalgia to have! Not everyone can say they have one of those, so congrats!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

                      After reading this link:http://www.civildefensemuseum.com/cd...ale/index.html
I hope that I wont ever be near radiation levels high enough for my unit to detect them.
