You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Werewolf, you and I have a common musical interest! I love Midnight Syndicate's stuff! It's so nice and moody and atmospheric. I play the stuff year around instead of just for Hallowe'en, but it IS exceptionally good music to play in the car on a ghost run or over the boombox in the front yard cemetery on Hallowe'en night.

One of the members of MS, who is no longer with the band, Joseph Vargo, went on to form another band called Nox Arcana which is also good.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I remember I borrowed this one from the library for my younger half brother in the 80s. But these mean Halloween to me:

FAMOUS GHOST STORIES WITH SCARY SOUNDS LP 1975 VINYL VG++ | eBay

I still have my original copy of this one (above) from when I was 11 and not a skip or scratch on it! It gets played frequently throughout the month of October.

MONSTER MASH sounds of terror LP sealed 1974 SPC 5104 | eBay

This one (above) I picked up a few years ago from Ebay. I remember my friend Laura had this and brought it to my house to play it. We were cool w/ the cheesy version of Monster Mash, but the sounds scared us so bad we squished ourselves under the coffee table!

A friend of mine went to a Rob Zombie concert a few years back and the opening act was a band called Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures. He gave me a CD of their stuff. I later found out they named themselves after a Hammer movie. One of the tracks on their debut album is called "Creeps for Cushing".

Their music isn't for everyone, but they have a tongue n' cheek vibe about them I like to listen to now and again, esp. around Halloween.
