Ditto. I did a word search on the page and found nothing - so maybe it's been corrected or you're getting mixed up somehow?

Guys, obviously it was there earlier--Mark Hamill was listed as one of the actors. It has since been corrected.

saying Mark Hamill was in the first Karate Kid 1984 is like saying Damien played Mr Miyagi!

                      Yes, it was vandalism:
                      Wikimedia Error

It also has "Armando Regalado" listed as the actor of the Karate Kid.

Wikipedia and other online sources are great tools but as with any research - it needs to be verified. -especially if it seems unreal.

i once had a teacher who said wikipedia could not be used as a source. i succesfully argue the point that ANY paper source could also have errors (many do) and they are not constantly peer reviewed and can not easily be corrected. and there is the fact that something written needs to have supportin evidence as well.

my point - even though mark hamill was not in the karate kid, we should not lose faith in the internet. afterall - how long did it take for this error to be found, discussed and corrected?

So it never occurred to anyone to maybe check IMDB for info? This isn’t like some obscure fact that is not public knowledge, it’s the cast of a major/popular motion picture.

I agree. I love Wikipedia - but like any tool it should be used the correct way.

I didn't think that any encyclopedia made a good primary source for academic or journalistic purposes on it's own. I would think that for papers Wikipedia (or other encyclopedias) would be handy for their footnotes and tracking down other articles and sources though.
