The surprise movie of the year so far for me...

    Warrior...

Just came back from the movie...wow...it was a great movie...I was so surprised it was this good.

    Rotten Tomatoes agree as well:

    Warrior - Rotten Tomatoes

This movie took me by surprise.

It's not mindless MMA movie like Never Back Down...this one has a great story, the acting is superb (Nick Nolte might be nominated for an Oscar for his role as the father of the two fighters)...it has a lot of heart...the fight scenes themselves are realistic and raw...the atmosphere of the MMA world is there in spades...outstanding overall production...I was really impressed.

BTW...Kurt Angle plays a Russian MMA fighter...how cool is that...lol.

This movie is the Rocky of the MMA world.

I never thought a brutal sport like mixed martial arts could be so thoughtful as a film...made with such heart...but here it is...the surprise movie of the year for me as far as I'm concerned.

Even if you are not a MMA fan...you will enjoy the great drama this film provides.

I liked it better than The Fighter...that's how much I enjoyed this movie.

    Go check it out...

I'm going to have to check it out! As you may well know by now, I love brutality.

BTW...the younger brother is played by Tom Hardy...he was Shinzon in Star Trek Nemesis...and he'll be Bane in Dark Knight Rises...the guy is built like a tank...

I can hardly believe this was him as well...

Aside from the drama and great acting...yes...plenty of brutality...you'll love it, Jess...

One of the great things about this movie...is that there's a possibility there could be a brother vs brother match...you can't decide who you wanna root for...pretty unique situation.

I have heard nothing but outstanding comments about this movie from every friend and acquaintance I have. Now combined with Hector's blessing, I will sacrifice my $8 to the movies. This appears to be a must-see! Thanks for sharing.

Cool - I'll check this one out for sure. "Bronson" is the first movie Hardy stood out in for me, and he was all build up in that as well:
